There’s a thread over on SomethingAwful titled “Make video game covers classy” – and what they’re aiming to do in a Photoshop Phriday kinda way is reproduce game covers as if they were 70′s book covers… and by golly it works!

My favourite so far though has to be the R-Type cover below… Always a fan of R-Type and keen to take a swing at the evil Bydo Empire (recently updated and released on XBLA in the form of R-Type Dimensions, btw) – this just captures the essence of it perfectly for me…
