I think pulseaudio messes a lot in Ubuntu 9.10. It makes strange noices everywhere (different applications)when playing MP3s, videos...whatever. Then I removed it and installed Alsamixergui to regain the sound control. Still the Totem sound didn't show up. After follow your instructions here, it works perfectly. Now, I can watch ppstream through Totem. Thanks.
I think pulseaudio messes a lot in Ubuntu 9.10.

Still the Totem sound didn’t show up. After follow your instructions here, it works perfectly.
Now, I can watch ppstream through Totem.
