Arcade Fire – Dimensions (Her Original Soundtrack)

I watched the film Her on the plane back from holidays last week – and it was amazing: inventive, smart, funny, thought-provoking – and wonderfully directed by Spike Jonze, not to mention brilliantly acted by a fantastic cast including Joaquin Phoenix and Scarlett Johansson.

Also, it was partially scored by Arcade Fire – and this track really stood out to me:

So beautiful…

Arcade Fire – Empty Room

Congrats to Arcade Fire on their 2011 Grammy best album win for The Suburbs!

Apparently, a lot of the media monkeys didn’t know who the hell Arcade Fire were, which prompted much ill-educated commentary by those who insist that if it’s not in the Top 40 Billboard charts, then it must be both irrelevant & rubbish. As such, I feel it only fair to point out the following important public information video:

You have been warned =P

Arcade Fire – Ready to Start

Arcade Fire - The Suburbs

If the businessmen drink my blood
Like the kids in art school said they would
Then I guess I’ll just begin again
You say, “can we still be friends?”

If I was scared… I would
And if I was bored… you know I would
And if I was yours… but I’m not

All the kids have always known
That the emperor wears no clothes
But they bow to down to him anyway
It’s better than being alone

If I was scared… I would
And if I was bored… you know I would
And if I was yours… but I’m not

Now you’re knocking at my door
Saying please come out with us tonight
But I would rather be alone
Than pretend I feel alright

Love it.. The new Arcade Fire album The Suburbs is released on August the 3rd 2010 – w00t! There’s a special place in my heart for Arcade Fire (and a special hole in my wallet where I bought scalped tickets to see them in Cardiff two years back) =D

Great band – great songs – win/win.
