How To: Fix A Numeric Keypad That’s Stopped Working In Linux

r3dux | March 11, 2009

Numeric keypad used to work, now all of a sudden hitting digits won’t enter them even though NumLock is on? Yup – you’ve somehow enabled “cursor control” mode for the numeric keypad.

The fix? Hit Ctrl+Shift+NumLock to un-b0rk it.

That is – press and hold Ctrl, then while still holding down Ctrl, press and hold Shift, then while still holding down both Ctrl and Shift press the NumLock key.

You’re welcome =)
